Human Factors
Studying how people cook
For our human factors testing, we conducted comprehensive research and testing sessions with professional chefs to identify common pain points associated with kitchen tool usage.
Through detailed observations and interviews, we gathered insights on discomfort, grip issues, and fatigue experienced during prolonged use. This data guided our ergonomic improvements, focusing on handle design to enhance comfort, reduce strain, and improve overall usability. The result is a handle that conforms naturally to the hand, providing a more comfortable and efficient cooking experience.
Ideation
Developing concepts
Based on the insights gathered from our human factors testing, we developed a series of concepts aimed at addressing the identified pain points.
Our design team explored various handle shapes, materials, and textures to enhance ergonomics and user comfort. Each concept was meticulously crafted to ensure it not only met functional requirements but also aligned with our vision of luxury kitchenware. By iterating and refining these designs, we arrived at innovative solutions that blend elevated aesthetics with superior usability.
3d development
Solidworks + Keyshot
Utilizing SolidWorks, we transformed our ergonomic concepts into precise 3D models.
This advanced CAD software allowed us to carefully design and visualize every aspect of the kitchenware tools, ensuring accuracy and functionality. We tested various iterations to optimize the handle's comfort, grip, and aesthetic appeal. The 3D models served as a critical step in refining our designs, allowing for detailed analysis and adjustments before moving to the prototyping phase.
We combined our favorite features of the many cooking tools we've tried over the years to create a collection that's ideal for use with nonstick cookware. This utensil set is constructed with sturdy nylon heads and TPE-coated ergonomic handles to maintain comfort and prevent slipping – even when wet.
