User-Centric Design | Accessories for Instant Products
Design Brief: Design an entire line of accessories for the Instant Brand Line. Create products that have innovative solutions to add value to the line along with products that already exist in the market.
About: I led the design process and research phase alongside two other designers for the entire line of Instant Brand Accessories. From initial research and development to final production, we focused on integrating innovative solutions that enhance the existing product line while aligning with Instant's visual brand language (VBL). Our goal was to create accessories that not only complemented Instant's appliances but also added significant value to the user experience and market presence.

Air Fryer Testing | Pain Points
When we began testing the Instant Pot Air Fryer we came across a crucial issue that is a fundamental issue with all air fryers.
Food blows around. We continued testing and observing how different foods reacted in the Air Fryer.

Physical Functioning Prototype
To test our design we needed to make a prototype that could be tested under the Air Fryer conditions and react similar to when its in Production.
We created a 3D model of the Pronged Tray and then created a mold using dissolvable supports and poured Food Grade High Heat Silicone in.

Air Fryer Testing | Pain Points
It worked! But we needed more spikes! We were able to have more chips in at one time (almost 3x) and they weren’t blown around as much.
We also realized that we could and should have more spikes so that we could have even more chips and prevent those from flying around.

In Stores Now
The Silicone Pronged Tray is now available in stores and online in places like Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart.
It has great reviews and is widely used in Instant Air Fryers but also other brands alike.
